Hurricane Otis slammed into Mexico´s southern Pacific coast as an ‘unimaginable’ Category 5 hurricane early Wednesday 25 October, bringing 165 mph winds and heavy rain to Acapulco and surrounding towns. Gusts of up to 145 km/h, waves of 3 to 5 meters high, torrential rains and tornadoes have impacted the coasts of Oaxaca and Guerrero – with Acapulco reeling from the force of the impact; and the catastrophic damage extends to the surrounding regions of Campeche, Quintana Roo and Yucatán, among others.
Since landfall we have been responding to the extreme situation and our team of Adjusters and Engineers are on the ground providing assistance in this critical period. We utilise state-of-the-art technology that provides efficient claims control, allowing site inspections and valuations to be undertaken more efficiently – crucial in the aftermath of natural catastrophes such as this. This results in expediting settlement of claims, thus reducing the ultimate indemnity and cost exposure for our clients.
